Emergency Department eQUIPMENT

In 2019, the Foundation purchased a new glide scope and supporting materials, along with vital machines to support the Emergency Department at St. Martha's Regional Hospital.

 

Sobey Foundation: tHE gREATEST gIFT

In September 2018, the Sobey Foundation made a transformative $1 million gift in support of cardiorespiratory care at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital. The Sobey Foundation gift will improve the quality in acute and chronic care for heart and lung diseases. A new Palliative Care Unit at St. Martha’s

On June 11, 2018, the new palliative care unit at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital officially opened.

With patients moving in just a few days later, the unit offered a comfortable and peaceful patient and family-centered environment that focused on the person, and not their disease

 

A Focus on Mental Health

Thanks to the generous support of the Bank of Nova Scotia (BNS), Nova Scotia Health (NSH) has hired a behavioral interventionist to support clients in Antigonish and surrounding areas. Funding for the position came through a gift agreement with the BNS, which committed $200,000 in funding over five years.
