Thank You to the Antigonish & Port Hawkesbury McDonald’s Locations!

McHappy Day was loads of fun! More photos below.

McHappy day 2023 was a huge sucess!

McHappy Day 2023 was on May 10th! It was a fantastic event and was very successful thanks to our local McDonald’s crew and support from our communities!

McHappy Day 2023 raised $22,000 for
the St. Martha's Regional Hospital Foundation!

This is an amazing amount that we will put towards the purchase of enhanced imaging upgrades supporting scoliosis imaging capabilities

It was a fantastic event! Thank you for you support!

A bit about the equipment:

Scoliosis is an abnormal lateral curvature of the spine. It is most often diagnosed in childhood or early adolescence and its cause is unknown.

Patients from our local communities requiring scoliosis X-rays are unable to have the best possible imaging for this condition at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, or any of the hospitals in the surrounding communities. Currently, to provide best service, patients are sent to New Glasgow or Cape Breton, which can be very difficult for many patients.

The funds from McHappy Day in Antigonish and Port Hawkesbury will be vital in the purchase of an orthopedic stand and an upgrade to imaging software which will support upgraded scoliosis imaging capabilities allowing St. Martha’s the ability to provide this service to our patients going forward.

These exams are requested quite frequently and having the capability to offer the service at St. Martha’s would have a significant positive impact on our scoliosis patients.

McDonalds and the St. Martha’s Regional Hospital Foundation sincerely thank you for your support!
